What is EASSy?

EASSy (www.eassy.org) is a 10,000km submarine cable system running along the east coast of Africa. It is owned and operated by a group of African (92%) and International (8%) telecom operators.

The cable incorporates some of the latest developments in submarine fibre-optic technology and is the highest capacity system on the eastern seaboard.

EASSy not only provides connectivity throughout southern and eastern Africa, but also interconnects with multiple international submarine cable networks for diverse, seamless onward connectivity to Europe, USA, Middle East and Asia.
