WIOCC offers access to a seamless network covering 30 African countries over more than 50,000km of optical fibre, and serving more than 400 African locations.
WIOCC’s international reach extends to 100 cities in 30 countries in Europe and more than 700 cities in 70 countries globally. In addition, WIOCC owns
capacity on multiple submarine cables – including EASSy and the new EIG and WACS cable systems - enabling it to offer a cost-effective east + west coast
diversity proposition to meet customer demands for a one-stop shop resilience offering.
WIOCC offers a one-stop shop, managed end to end service across its entire network.
International connectivity
WIOCC’s international reach currently extends to 100 cities in 30 countries in Europe and more than 700 cities in 70 countries globally. Investment in new submarine cables is allowing WIOCC to further extend its seamless regional and international services to up to 12 additional countries along Africa’s western and northern seaboards.
Submarine connectivity
WIOCC is the largest shareholder in EASSy, a 4.72Tbps submarine fibre cable interconnecting 9 countries along Africa’s eastern seaboard. WIOCC has also made strategic investments in EIG and WACS and owns capacity on other systems. This enables it to offer carriers high levels of redundancy and deliver the promise of reliable, high-speed connectivity all around Africa. WIOCC delivers a comprehensive east + west coast diversity proposition that addresses customer demands between Africa and Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America.
Africa terrestrial connectivity
WIOCC’s network integrates the terrestrial fibre networks of its shareholders and partners, creating the largest terrestrial fibre footprint in southern and eastern Africa - extending across more than 50,000km of terrestrial fibre-optic network and interconnecting more than 400 African locations across 30 countries.
